BEFREIUNGSKIEGE!

The 1807 Treaty of Tilsit forced Prussia to constrain its army to no more than 42,000 men. They evaded the restriction by the Krümper System of cycling new recruits through the army to create a reserve of trained men.

When Prussia declared war on France on 17 March 1813 (the Befreiungskriege or War of Liberation), over 40 reserve battalions were formed and organised into a dozen Reserve Infantry Regiments. These were instrumental in the defeat of Napoleon.

This box set is an ARMY BUILDER and allows you to build 60 hard plastic figures with a choice of either covered shako or the Schirmütz (peaked cap). You will need to provide your own command figures.

Penelope D. ★★★★★

The sprues are packed with plenty of heads and arms to build the Krümper system recruits, so I can finally make a proper Landwehr unit. Molding is crisp with minimal flash, and the poses feel natural for 1813-1815. Even the cartridge boxes came out cleanly.

Adam ★★★★★

These figures perfectly capture the look of the reformed Prussian infantry from 1813. The sculpting on the shakos and the detail on the greatcoats is excellent, and they cleaned up with very little flash. Really happy with how they paint up for the Napoleonic skirmish games.

George K. ★★★★★

The crisp detail on these 28mm figures really brings the Landwehr units to life, especially the varied poses for the musketeers. I’ve glued together a whole battalion in one sitting—the mold lines were minimal. This set is a fantastic addition to my Napoleonic collection.
