Category: MDF terrain

A common sight in the 1900s to 1930s in the USA, especially in the depression. Often made by the owners who were dispossessed or itinerant workers. These flatboat, broadhorn, barge, scow, or arks make a great way of hiding from the law, hooch running or hiding from Zombies in the middle of the river.

Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions.

Samuel ★★★★★

The little roof planks and railing pieces really give it that hand-built depression-era feel. I’ve got a few of these lined up for a river diorama, and they fit together without any warping. A perfect little accent for a 1920s-30s layout.

Ava ★★★★★

The laser-cut MDF is crisp and fits together without needing any sanding, and the flatboat hull has that exactly right rickety look. I can already picture it tied up along a muddy riverbank in a dusty 1930s diorama.

Olivia ★★★★★

I'd been looking for a depression-era river dweller for ages and this flatboat captures that makeshift look perfectly. The MDF is cut cleanly and the deck planks have just the right rough texture to suggest hand-built construction.
