Russian Windmill (28mm)

Russian Windmill (28mm) - Main image
$14.25 $19 In stock

Category: laser-cut wooden scale model

Our Russian windmill is of an early post-based design where the barn section at the top rotates around a central post moving the sails into the best place to catch the wind. Needing to rotate it was constructed to be very light housing only the windmill mechanism and because of this, it was unlikely to be used to store grain or flour. With this in mind, it would look good on a tabletop next to one of our Russian Village Barns.

This kit would make an excellent addition to WWII and Cold War 28mm scale wargaming tables or dioramas with an Eastern European setting.

Supplied unassembled and unpainted in kit form with full instructions.

Any models or accessories shown are for scale purposes only and are not included.

Owen ★★★★★

The post mechanism is surprisingly smooth—the barn section rotates with just a light push. Assembly took a couple evenings, but watching the little sails catch imaginary wind on my desk is oddly satisfying.

Sebastian ★★★★★

The rotating top section is the coolest part—it actually spins on the central post, so I can angle the sails to face my desk fan and watch them turn. Assembly took me about an hour, and the post-and-barn joint felt solid once glued.

Emma O. ★★★★★

The laser-cut pieces fit together perfectly, and I was genuinely surprised how detailed the barn slats look once assembled. It took me about two evenings to build, and watching the top section actually rotate on the central post is oddly satisfying.
