Designed by British company Vospers, this Motor Torpedo Boat (or MTB) 73' type was used extensively by the Royal Navy Coastal Forces from the channel to the Mediterranean.

These 73-foot boats came about in 1943 from a requirement that British MTBs should be better able to fight other small craft, which was generally the job of the larger motor gunboats (MGB).

Equipped with four 18-inch torpedo tubes as their major offensive armament along with Oerlikon 20 mm cannon and some defensive armament (generally two twin Vickers K machine guns, one either side) for protection against enemy aircraft, they could pack a punch against enemy shipping

The twin 18-inch torpedo tubes fit cleanly into the hull cutouts, and the whole model assembled in under an hour with just wood glue. I'm really impressed with how crisp the laser-cut deck details came out.

The deck detail with the torpedo tubes and the 73' scale profile is spot-on for the Coastal Forces look. Fit was clean with minimal sanding needed on the MDF edges, and it's sturdy enough for tabletop play. I've already got it painted up for a Channel raid scenario.
