The border is exactly 1/4 inch as described, so my 50x75mm cavalry bases fit perfectly without any wobble. I grabbed the 1-inch frame height and it gives them enough clearance for a nice movement tray.

The two-layer MDF construction feels solid, and the 1/4-inch border holds my 50mm cavalry bases snugly without any wobble. I've already used it for a full squadron and the movement tray makes maneuvering on the tabletop so much easier.

Bought this for my cavalry unit and the 1/4" frame sits flush against the bases without any wobble. The two-piece design makes it easy to swap bases in and out, and the MDF is sturdy enough that I'm not worried about it warping.
