The 1/2 inch spacing between each cutout makes a huge difference for getting my unit into formation quickly without rubbing. This tray feels solid and the frame height I chose holds the bases securely.

Even my fiddliest 20mm skirmish figures sit rock-solid in these cutouts, and the separate base/upper frame makes swapping damaged models painless. The 1/4" trim keeps the whole thing looking clean on the table, and the MDF feels sturdy enough for years of play.

Each cutout's 1/2 inch spacing means my 20mm models sit perfectly without bumping into each other, and the frame height I chose fits their bases snugly. The tray feels sturdy enough to move a whole unit around the table without flexing.
