MDF skirmish tray consisting of MDF upper frame and lower base. Select the height of frame required to match the depth of miniatures' bases. Each cutout is placed 1/2" (12.7mm) apart with a 1/4" (6.35mm) trim to maintain consistent spacing between individual bases.

I was worried about the spacing being too tight, but the 1/2" gaps between cutouts let me easily grab individual models without disturbing the rest of the unit. The MDF frame locks the bases in securely, and having a separate base and upper frame means I can swap heights if I rebase later.
