Freeborn Orbitale Transmat

Painting the tiny control panels on these was fiddly, but once both kits were assembled they fit together perfectly. Setting up a paired test across my dining table was incredibly satisfying. The instant transport effect for my skirmish games is finally working.

Painted these up over the weekend and the detail on the MDF is crisp enough to make the kit worth the assembly time. The two-piece setup really sells the idea of goods being beamed across the table, and the unpainted surface takes a wash surprisingly well.

These orbital transmat kits are exactly what my Freeborn force needed. The instant transport rule is a game-changer for getting my troops across the table, and the MDF is sturdy enough to survive a few drops during assembly.
