Test of Honour - Ashigaru met Ozutsu

The ozutsu models have fantastic detail, especially the flash pans and matchlocks — they really look like handheld cannons. I’ve already started painting one and the casting is clean with minimal flash. A solid addition for any samurai-themed wargaming force.

The recruitment card and multi-base are a nice touch, but the real stars are the three ozutsu sculpts—each one looks like it could actually blow a hole through a samurai’s armor. Assembly was quick, and the heavy muskets feel chunky enough to match their hand-cannon vibe on the tabletop.

The weight of these ozutsu in hand really sells the idea of a hand-held cannon — they're chunky and satisfying. Each ashigaru pose feels distinct, which makes basing them together a joy. I'm already planning a second set for a bigger firing line.
