The two-piece design (upper frame plus lower base) is exactly what I needed for a clean look on the tabletop. The 1/4" border holds my 25mm bases snugly without any wobble during movement.

The laser-cut MDF fits my 25mm squares perfectly with zero wobble, and the 1/4" frame border gives just enough lip to keep models locked in during a game. The 1/4" border is sturdy enough to hold my minis firmly during a game, but I wish the MDF fit together just a bit tighter. I got the 3/16" base option and it works fine for standard figures. Definitely saves time setting up formations.
