Compare the Quar Logo Dice Set and Numeral Dice on readability, theme, and price to decide which six 16mm dice belong in your next wargame.
Quick answer
Choose the Quar Logo Dice Set if you play This Quar's War: Clash Of Rhyfles and want faction-themed dice; choose Numeral Dice (x6) if you need clear, generic number tracking across many games. Both packs give you six 16mm dice, so the decision comes down to theme versus universal readability.
Readability: numerals vs a logo face
Numeral Dice are designed for easy readability during play, with straightforward numbers that work for any tabletop game. The Quar Logo Dice Set replaces the 6 face with the Quar logo, which reinforces faction identity but means you won't see a numeral six on that side. If you often call out results quickly or teach new players, numerals reduce hesitation; if you know the logo counts as six, the themed face is a feature rather than a flaw.
Theme and faction identity
The Quar Logo Dice Set is tied to This Quar's War: Clash Of Rhyfles, so it suits players building a Quar force or running demo games where visual theme matters. Numeral Dice carry no game-specific branding, making them a neutral fit for wargaming and hobby projects. Neither set changes gameplay odds; the difference is how much you want your dice to reinforce the army on the table.
Price and practical value
At catalog prices, Numeral Dice (x6) cost less than the Quar Logo Dice Set (x6), so they are the budget-friendly choice if you need multiple packs for tracking numbers or sharing across games. The Quar Logo Dice Set costs more but delivers a faction-specific look that generic dice cannot. If you only need dice for Quar games, the themed set justifies the premium; if you need utility dice for several systems, numeral dice stretch further.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Theme vs universal use: The Quar Logo Dice Set ties you to This Quar's War: Clash Of Rhyfles visually, while Numeral Dice work with any tabletop game. Pick themed dice if you mainly play Quar; pick numerals if you want one set for many systems. Decide whether faction identity or cross-game flexibility matters more at your table.
- Logo face vs numeral six: The Quar set replaces the 6 with a logo, so you must remember that face counts as six. Numeral Dice show numbers on every face, which speeds up reading for new players or fast play. If you regularly teach beginners, numeral dice reduce explanation time.
- Cost per pack: Numeral Dice (x6) are the lower-cost option at catalog price, while the Quar Logo Dice Set carries a premium for its faction design. Buy multiple numeral packs if you need dice for several games; buy the Quar set when theme is the priority. Match the number of packs to how many games you need to supply, not just to the army you play most.
