The 1/4" border on this tray is exactly what I was hoping for—my 40mm bases click in tight without any wobble. Assembling the upper frame to the base took a couple of minutes with wood glue, but the fit was clean and it's held up great through two games so far.

The MDF frame fits snugly around my 40mm bases without any wobble, and the 1/4-inch border gives just enough visual separation for a clean ranked unit. Assembly took me about ten minutes with wood glue, and the layers align perfectly once pressed together.

I’ve got a full 10x2 unit of 40mm bases loaded up, and the MDF frame and base fit together snugly with no wobble—exactly what I needed for ranked games. The 1/4” border keeps everything in place even when I tilt the tray to move the unit.
